TLDR Parents only processes emails it identifies as family- or school-related, or emails forwarded or labeled by you for processing. It does not read or store the rest of your mailbox. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, connections to Google use OAuth (no password handling), and access is logged and monitored. The AI provider used for event extraction is contractually prohibited from training on your data. People who use Apple Calendar or Outlook may be guests of TLDR Parents calendar events and also may subscribe to the TLDR Parents family Calendar Feed (iCal). No. TLDR Parents works entirely from the parent's inbox. Schools, sports leagues, and activity coordinators do not need to install or sign up for anything. Any email format works, including newsletters, PDFs, image attachments, plain text, and HTML.

Yes. Co-parents in separate households can each have their own TLDR Parents account connected to their own Gmail, and each will see events from emails their household receives. Co-parents may also add each other as 'Family Guests' to be TLDR Parents calendar event invitees while maintaining distinct accounts. For couples in the same household, one account covers both parents.

What kinds of emails does TLDR Parents process?

School newsletters, PTO and PTA announcements, classroom updates, sports schedules, music and dance lessons, scouts, summer camps, after-school programs, religious school emails, library and community programs — anything family-related. Personal email, work email, and marketing are ignored. Any email that gets ignored can still be processed — forward it to us or apply a Gmail label to include it. Auto-forwarding rules and Gmail filters work too, so you can pull in content from any account or source.

No. TLDR Parents will not send email on your behalf without explicit permission, and will not add, modify, or delete calendar events without your approval. Every extracted event is proposed for review; you decide what syncs.

The Daily Briefing is a short email delivered each morning. It lists the family's events for that day and the week ahead, upcoming deadlines, and new items extracted from emails received in the last 24 hours. It is designed to be the one thing a parent reads to feel caught up.

How do I cancel or delete my account?

Accepted Answer

You can disconnect Google access or delete your account at any time from settings in the web app, or by emailing support@tldrparents.com. After deletion, data is removed from active systems within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days.
